Two robberies reported over Labor Day weekend
Two strong-arm robberies occurred within an hour of each other and in about the same vicinity in South Lake Tahoe over the Labor Day weekend.
At 10:09 p.m. Sunday, Brad Ross, 23, of South Lake Tahoe, told police he was attacked by two men asking for money when he and his South Shore friend, Joshua Cabezas, were walking on the 4000 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard.
The two suspects demanded money from Ross. When he refused and fled, they allegedly tackled and punched him. Cabezas’ wallet and cellular phone were taken, and the men got away through the Forest Suites parking lot, South Lake Tahoe police Sgt. Brian Williams reported. One suspect was described as a man in his early 20s with brown hair wearing a red bandana.
In the next incident, reported at 10:50 p.m., Chris Simpson, 21, of Millbrae, reportedly turned over $30 in cash and casino chips to a man described as in his 20s or 30s. Simpson was allegedly attacked at the corner of Stateline and Pine avenues.
