Two winter exhibitions open Saturday at Lake Tahoe Community College

Opening in the Foyer Gallery is a solo exhibition of the art of Jonathan Schank on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Schank, a library technician at the college, is an artist with an extensive background in both art history and studio art. His exhibition will feature a presentation of prints that reference his interest in printmaking and art history. Here, the viewer will experience Schank’s craft for image design and context, along with his interest in the innovative presentation of ideas of the French artist Marcel Duchamp.

The show runs through March 21.

Opening in the Main Gallery will be the annual Art Faculty and Staff Show, also on Saturday, Jan. 12. The exhibition will showcase the work of art department faculty and staff. Everyone employed in the Art Department also is an artist. The show will feature the depth and breadth in media and content of these artists. The exhibition runs through Wednesday, March 21.

The opening reception for both exhibitions will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
