U.S. 395 closures to continue this week
Overnight, single-lane closures will continue on U.S. Route 395 between the U.S. Highway 50 junction in south Carson City and Mono Avenue in Gardnerville through Thursday, Aug. 14 and on Monday, Aug. 17, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
The closures are taking place as NDOT reseals the surface of Route 395.
All work will take place between approximately 6 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. All lanes will remain open during daytime hours.
The flush seal being applied to Route 395 consists of a top layer of oil to help reseal and rejuvenate the asphalt for a longer roadway life. The work is part of NDOT’s proactive pavement preservation program through which state roadway surfaces are preserved and resurfaced before reaching time for more extensive and costly repairs.
