Update 2:05 p.m.: Reward offered for information in Carson Valley murder

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in a homicide that happened on Wildhorse Lane in northern Carson Valley early Thursday morning.

Secret Witness is asking anyone with information related to the shooting to contact them at (775) 782-7463 or (775)586-7295.

You can also reach Lead Investigator Ron Elges at (775) 782-9910 or the Investigations Division Main Line (775) 782-9905. Information can also be provided to the Douglas County Communications Center for non-emergency contact at (775)782-9911. The investigators don’t need your name, but they do need your information to assist bringing those responsible for this crime to justice.



Benjamin Oxley, 36, a tenant residing at the location was shot to death in the home he was renting.. Oxley was employed as a rain gutter sales and installation specialist.

Capt. Keith Logan said someone called 911 at 3:20 a.m. to report a man had been shot. By the time deputies arrived, the victim was dead.
