USDA food distribution to take place

Provided to the Tribune

A USDA food distribution for Nevada residents will take place Sept. 26 at the Tahoe Douglas Senior Center.

Commodities that will be distributed include dry beans, frozen ground beef and blueberries, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta and juices. Nevada residents must show identification and sign an affirmation of income below 150 percent of the federal poverty level. An income of under $1,436 per month for one person or under $2,944 for a household of four qualifies. No proof of income is required, however.

Those who attend the distribution are asked to bring boxes or bags to hold their items. Preference for past participants will determine the quantity of some commodities.

The distribution will take place from 9-10 a.m. at the senior center, 885 Highway 50. The next distribution will be held Nov. 21.
