USDA free food program at Zephyr Cove senior center Thursday

Packaged, canned and frozen food will be distributed through the free USDA food program from 9-10 a.m. Thursday, July 22 at the Tahoe Douglas Senior Center, 885 U.S. Highway 50 near Warrior Way in Zephyr Cove.

Eligibility requirements are a current Nevada I. D. and signing a certification that household income is below 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. For an individual, this would be $1,353.75 gross per month; for a family of four, $2,756 per month. No proof of this income is needed, just a signature.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state Monday in response to improving coronavirus conditions, returning the state to a system of county-by-county restrictions, state health officials announced.
