Valhalla Fine Quilt Exhibit scheduled
The Tahoe Tallac Association will sponsor the third annual Valhalla Fine Quilt Exhibit Aug. 6 and 7. The exhibits and demonstrations are scheduled in Valhalla Grand Hall at the Tallac Historic Site, State Route 89 just past Historic Camp Richardson Resort.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Admission is $4 per person.
Up to 60 quilts of various techniques and sizes ranging from clothing to wall hangings to bed coverings will be displayed. Everyone who attends will be able to nominate his or her favorite quilt for the people’s choice awards. Prizes will be awarded in wall hangings, bed coverings and clothing. The event includes raffles and door prizes.
Quilters invite the public to watch a step-by-step process of quiltmaking and ask questions about the process. A noon and 2 p.m. on Aug. 5 two showing of “How to Make an American Quilt” will take place in the Valhalla Boathouse Theater. An unfinished object workshop is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Viking Room at Valhalla.
