Valhalla offers inaugural healing festival

The Valhalla Arts, Music & Theatre Festival will present the first Multicultural Healing Festival at the Tallac Historic Site with a weeklong series of events beginning with a Jewish prayer circle at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, in the Valhalla Grand Hall.

At 3 p.m., Jin Shin Jyutsu healer Ryan Moak will lead a workshop, and Tibetan lama Losang Samten will lead a ceremony ritual of healing and purification through prayer and meditation at 7 p.m.

The rest of the week’s schedule:



— From 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 2, the Washoe elders will lead a Talking Circle on the Valhalla Grand lawn.

— At 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3, an hourlong film, “Heart of Tibet,” will be shown in the Valhalla Grand Hall.



— Blue Turtle Seduction will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Boathouse Theatre.

— There will be a closing prayer by the Washoe at 6 p.m. Sept. 5 on the Valhalla Grand Lawn.

— The festival concludes at 7:30 p.m. Sept.6 with a concert by sitar player Kartik Seshadri at the Boathouse Theatre.
