Just like the actual Van Halen, Hot for Teacher, a Van Halen tribute act, started with David Lee Roth.

The group — which performs Saturday, Nov. 28, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe — formed in 1999 to showcase Van Halen’s hits with the quintessential rock frontman.

Hot for Teacher has since gone on to encompass every era of the Van Halen experience. The group’s singer and leader Randy Monroe channels both Roth and Sammy Hagar during the Bay Area band’s live performances.

“Hot for Teacher features four explosive performers that are not only among the most talented musicians on the West Coast, but are also dedicated scholars of the Van Halen musical legacy,” according to the band’s online biography. “These rock and roll ninjas bring to the stage everything fans of the world’s greatest party band crave, including roaring lead vocals, note-for-note renditions of Eddie Van Halen’s most stunning guitar riffs and solos, thundering bass, massive drums, stunning vocal harmonies and best of all … one hell of a good time.”

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
