A vandalism spree inside South Tahoe Middle School sometime over the weekend that resulted in at least $80,000 in damage remains under investigation, authorities said today.
Damage was done to several classrooms and was discovered when a teacher came into work on Sunday. Among equipment that was heavily damaged or destroyed include computers, audio and visual technology and desks.
The vandals also used fire extinguishers in the classrooms, police said.
“There was quite a lot vandalism to equipment. Everything combined was reported to be $80,000 in damages,” South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Marty Hale said.
