Vicki S. Blair
A going home party and celebration of life will take place July 7 for Vicki S. Blair, 65, who passed away June 26, 2007.
Vicki was born Dec. 15, 1941, in Livermore, Calif., to Charles and Juanita Cox. She married Dallas Gillaspey in 1960 and they welcomed daughter, Denise in 1961, and son, Kirk in 1964. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1972 and she quickly began attending church and joined a women’s Bible study. In 1988 her interaction with the church continued as she became the wife of a Baptist minister. She enjoyed opening her home for fellowship, meals, dessert socials and meetings. Vicki spent time leading hymns in the worship service, creating weekly flower arrangements, interior decorating, singing solos and singing with the choir.
In 1997 Vicki returned to South Lake Tahoe to be near her children and grandchildren. She rekindled her relationship with Bill Gulley and they became sweethearts again, having known each other since 1960. She attended Sierra Community Church, working as a vacation Bible school teacher, decorating the church building for holidays, and singing on the workship team. Spending time with her family was her top priority. She also loved Christmas-time, Victorian decorations and crafting. She was incredibly talented at opening gifts without peeking.
During her life Vicki was always busy, working as a billing clerk, dental assistant, office manager, bookkeeper, PBX operator, paper route driver, front desk clerk, chiropractic assistant, and a few time, she was self-employed. She was a welding shop owner, a medical transcriptionist and a crafter. Her family and friends will miss her.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Cox Jr.; sister, Debbie Cox-Fabrizi; daughter and son-in-law, Denise Gillaspey-Llewellyn and Randy Llewellyn; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Lynda Gillaspey; grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon Llewellyn; adopted granddaughter, Jordanne Cabrera; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loved ones.
A going home party and celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. July 7 at Sierra Community Church, 1165 Sierra Blvd. Cards and letters may be sent to the family in care of Denise Llewellyn, 310 Bodmer Lane, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
