Victim unidentified in probabale murder case

Investigators are searching for leads to the identity of a dead body found last month near the U.S. Highway 50 bridge near Riverton.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies said the man, found April 24, was killed by a gunshot. Investigators believe the man was murdered a week to a month before the discovery. The body was found on a hillside near Ice House Road.

Detectives released a description of the man on Monday in hopes someone might recognize him. A white man, he was in his 30s to 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 135 pounds, with a mustache and slight beard. He also had three tattoos located on his right arm and shoulder, and left shoulder.
