Victor Burnell Johnson, a 13-year resident of Carson City, died May 24 in Carson City. He was 81.

Mr. Johnson was born May 8, 1925, in Loyalton, Calif., to Victor Frank and Mattie Johnson. He married Anita Kasner on May 24, 1953, in Oroville, Calif. Before moving to Carson City, he lived in South Lake Tahoe for 30 years.

Victor was a high school graduate. He spent 20 years working for the U.S Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He belonged to the Fleet Reserve Association, the Korea Association and the EOD Association. He enjoyed working in the yard, NASCAR and baseball spring training.



Victor is survived by his wife, Anita; sons, Darrell and Darren Johnson, both of South Lake Tahoe; brother and sister-in-law, John and Zina Johnson; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Johnson, in 1949 from injuries sustained in World War II.

Burial will take place at Happy Homestead cemetery in South Lake Tahoe.



McFarlane Mortuary at South Lake Tahoe is in charge of arrangements.
