Victor Beretta

Victor (Pa Pa Vic / De La Hoya) Beretta, 93, passed March 15 peacefully after a very short illness, leaving with us his gift of lovte and many cherished memories.

Victor was born January 7, 1915, in San Francisco, Calif. He married his beloved Shirley Manuel in 1937 and had one son. He pursued a career for 50 years as a trucker in the construction industry. After his retirement from the Brotherhood of the Teamsters in 1979, he and his wife moved to South Lake Tahoe. He then drove for Hertz until he was 89. Victor had a real zest for life and thoroughly enjoyed his many friends. he loved telling stories, reading, sports, mainly Nascar. He often frequented Lakeside Inn and The Brothers Place.

He was a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Moose Lodge 1632.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Shirley. He is survived by his son, Jerry Beretta of Burlingame, Calif.; a granddaughter and great grand children of Oregon; his cat Billy; extended family; and many, many caring friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Brothers Place on March 29 at 2 p.m.
