Vikings hit six home runs in doubleheader split with Fallon

Balls were flying out of the JV diamond Saturday at Todd Fields.

South Tahoe High’s junior varisty hit six home runs in a baseball doubleheader split with the Fallon Greenwave.

Jake Braun, who hit a game-winning three-run homer vs. Fallon on Thursday, launched a grand slam as the Vikings routed the Greenwave 24-13 in the game two of the twin bill.



Dillon McKeen blasted a pair of home runs and Rylan Tepper added a solo shot for STHS, which improved to 5-10 overall.

In the opener, Justin Barnard bashed two solo home runs in a 20-11 defeat.



Hitting stats for the Vikings in game two were: Tyler Slater, 2 for 2, two walks and three runs scored; Barnard, 2 for 2, two walks and four runs; Braun, 3 for 3, six RBI; Rigel Garman, 1 for 1, two walks and three runs; McKeen, 2 for 3, three runs scored, three RBI; and Tepper, 2 for 4 and two runs scored.

In the opening game, Barnard was 2 for 4; Andrew Contaxis went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored; Garman was 2 for 2 with a double, run and three RBI; and Tepper had a double and two runs scored.
