Vikings Tennis defeats Incline High School

The South Tahoe tennis teams beat Incline High School, the girls 15-3 at home, while the boys won on the road 11-7.

“The girls played well and are looking forward to more league matches,” said girls’ head coach Jenny Clark.

Maggie Lee and Cassandra Marin both won their singles match 6-0 in round 1 and 6-2 in round 2. Natalie Allen and Tina Tu also won their singles matches.

Their doubles teams swept Incline, outscoring them 55-10. Kelsey Meteger and Rosalie Annand, Emily Rives and Grace Bronken, Casey Willits and Sarah Jobbins, Ashley Tarwater and Catherine Baghdikian all had big wins in the doubles matches, shutting out Incline in the first round.

For the boys, the doubles teams swept Incline 9-0. They limited Incline to four points on the day. The singles played strong as well, winning three matches with wins from Grant Fagen, Adam Jarrett, and Chad Kassamanni.

“All players are starting to gain confidence, strength to endure, and are working as a team,” said boys’ coach Justin Clark. “This year we have strong leadership from our state contending senior doubles teams.”
