A 1937 Bentley open touring car, three Porsche 911 Carreras, an Alpha Romeo Spider and a Ferrari Daytona will be among the vehicles taking part in a tour of Lake Tahoe this weekend.

The seventh annual Fall Colors Moto Tour returns to Lake Tahoe Friday through Sunday.

“A different route is mapped out each year so they go to places they haven’t been before,” according to a press release for the event. “The tour starts down in Stockton on Friday and they make their way up Hwy 49 to Hwy 89 towards Tahoe. The group stays at the River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant on the Truckee River for the weekend of Oct 17th-19th where they will head out on Saturday morning to tour over to Northstar, then head down the east side of lake, down Kingsbury Grade to Markleeville, and then into Gardnerville for lunch before they head back to the River Ranch Lodge.”

The cars taking part in the tour will be available for viewing at the River Ranch from 4-6 p.m. Saturday.

The event was created by Dick McClure as a way to close out the summer driving season for car enthusiasts.

“The philosophy of the Moto Tour group is 1/3 beautiful California roads, 1/3 cool, old, fun cars, and 1/3 new friends,” McClure said in the release.

The River Ranch is located at the corner of State Route 89 and Alpine Meadows Road.
