Virginia Acree Carlin

Services will take place Wednesday in West Virginia for Virginia Acree Carlin, who passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2006, following a brief illness. She was 87.

Virginia was a retired schoolteacher, who taught for 48 years. She taught school in West Virginia, Concord, Calif., and at the Tahoe Montessori School in South Lake Tahoe from 1984 to 1997. She and her family had owned a home at the South Shore since the early 1960s. She attended the Fellowship of Praise Church in Elkview, W.Va.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Acree and Bill Pollex of Livermore, Calif., and Linda Acree and Frank Silva of Yuba City, Calif.; son, George “Tom” Acree of Pinch, W.Va.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.



Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel in Elkview.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to the Tahoe Montessori School, 848 Glorene Ave., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
