Family services will take place at 1 p.m. Nov. 3 at Happy Homestead Cemetery for Virginia Christiansen, 97, who died Oct. 16, 2007, in Gardnerville, Nev.

Virginia was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George and Rhonda Ensign. She was one of 10 siblings. Virginia and her husband, Ralph, lived in South Lake Tahoe for many years.

Virginia worked for the Lake Tahoe Unified School District as a cook at Meyers Elementary School. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Gardnerville, where she lived out the rest of her years.

Virginia loved to go for long walks and play bingo, and in her younger years she loved to dance.

She was very proud of her family and loved them all very much, and she had many great friends where she lived. She was a kind and caring person and was always willing to help out when she could. Virginia will be missed by all who knew her, but she will not be forgotten.

Virginia is survived by her sister, Ruth Everett of Escondido, Calif.; son, Marvin K. Gerrard of South Lake Tahoe; grandsons and their wives, Marvin R. and Carolyn Gerrard of Carson City, Nev., Kenneth and Beverly Gerrard of South Lake Tahoe and Glen and Louise Gerrard of South Lake Tahoe; nephews, Ron and Rick Price of Gardnerville; five great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate thoughts and prayers at the time of services.
