A beer bottle to the face sent a 32-year-old Reno man to jail and a 23-year-old Reno man to the hospital, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.
Authorities didn’t know the cause of the argument but the man who was hit in the face was reportedly watching the dancers inside Club Altitude at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.
The 23-year-old had a gash and likely broken nose. The 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $25,000.
In other news:
— Three people from Reno were arrested on suspicion of grand larceny when they reportedly stole a boat from Zephyr Cove Resort on the Fourth of July, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.
The three said they had permission to use the boat but resort management denied that claim. Bail for the three was set at $25,000.
— Several counterfeit $20 bills spurned the South Lake Tahoe Police Department to warn businesses to check for the security thread and watermark that matches the picture of the President Jackson on the bill.
Some fake bills were pre-marked with a counterfeit detection pen, authorities said. Police advised merchants who use such pens to recheck the bill to see if the same result is obtained.
