The South Tahoe High School Girls’ volleyball team is planning a fund-raiser in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event, “Taking Steps Toward Awareness” will take place Oct. 12 and will include a five-mile walk from Stateline to the “Y.” Proceeds from the event will benefit the STHS Girls’ team and Barton Hospital’s Resource Center Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

Check in will take place at the Video Maniacs parking lot at the “Y”. Transportation will be arranged to Stateline, where walkers can enjoy a leisurely stroll or a brisk, aerobic walk down the bike/walking path. Lunch will be provided by Stone St. Bar & Grill inside Caesars Tahoe. Information regarding breast cancer prevention and awareness also will be available.

Registration forms are available at http://www.laketahoevolleyball.org, Tahoe Women’s Care, Shehadi Motors and Barton Hospital Resource Center across from Scotty’s. The fee is $30 and anyone who registers by Sept. 22 will receive a T-shirt. Participants must complete and return a registration form which will include times.
