Each month between 68 to 82 men and women volunteer their time and effort at different venues within the Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. It may be the front desk, emergency room, records, gift shop, Attic, cheeseballs, Holiday Faire, blood drive, Health Fair, flu shots or an auxiliary board committee chairmenship.

A few good men and women this past year were able to raise and present $405,600 to Bill Gordon, Barton HealthCare Systems CEO, at the 2005 -2006 joint board meeting. The breakdown is:

* Attic – $345

* Gift Shop – $45,100

* Fundraisers, which include cheeseballs, Holiday Fair, raffles and Books Are First – $15,500.

The donation to the hospital this year is the largest donation ever given to the hospital in the history of the auxiliary – $59, 018 over the 2004 contribution. Since it began in 1962, the auxiliary has given more than $4.5 million through its fundraising efforts history.
