Volunteers needed for AYSO soccer group
Do you have children who like soccer or would like to participate in soccer? Are you a soccer player? Have you every coached soccer? Have you ever helped in any organization? Do you have in interest in helping the children of the community? We want to make Tahoe AYSO the best children’s soccer league possible. Now is the time to step forward and help.
Nominations for the local AYSO board for many other important volunteer positions are now being accepted. The American Youth Soccer Organization is an all-volunteer organization that promotes positive, open sports activity for children through the game of soccer. Every year this region has more than 1,000 children playing and learning the game. This past summer more than 90 teams were formed. The majority of the players on the highly successful South Tahoe Vikings first developed their skills through the local AYSO program. AYSO is about sportsmanship, learning and fun. Every child plays.
To help continue and improve the region, new volunteers are needed. Everyone has some time or a skill that can help make this AYSO region better and stronger. Anyone who can coach or referee, chair or participate in a meeting or committee, measure or line a field, or just make some phone calls, your help is needed.
For all the details visit the Web site at wwwayso282.org. Nominations and offers of volunteer help may be made by e-mail to email@example.com, by fax to (775) 588-0129 by phone to (530) 573-1426; or by mail to P.O. Box 5503, Zephyr Cove, Nev. 89448.
Nominations for board members will close Dec. 13. All board positions are open for the coming year. Board members meeting regularly and will attend the AYSO Section Two annual meeting March 7 through 9 in Reno for training. Beyond the board itself volunteers are needed to help in all sorts of ways. If people step up to help out for a few hours or a few days, this AYSO region can develop into the safest, most fun children’s sports league in Tahoe. Help the children of Tahoe learn about sport and get the reward of a thousand smiles by volunteering.
