Walsh, Jennings to hold volleyball clinic in Truckee

Beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh and husband Casey Jennings will put on two volleyball clinics Sunday, Jan. 30 at Alder Creek Middle School in Truckee.

The Invincible Volleyball Clinics are being offered to boys and girls ages 10-13 and ages 14 through adult. Clinic sessions are from 9-11:30 a.m. and noon-2:30 p.m.

Reservations are required. To secure a spot for one of the clinics, phone 775-247-4473 or e-mail jenningsandjennings@yahoo.com.

The cost is $165 per athlete, with a maximum of 24 athletes per clinic.

Walsh and Jennings will focus on perfecting the players’ fundamental skills, correcting skills and technique, high-intensity drills and hands-on training. They will also conduct queen/king of the court action.

Walsh will pursue her Olympic beach volleyball gold medal in the 2012 Summer Games. Walsh and Misty May-Treanor captured gold medals at the Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008.

Jennings, a member of BYU’s 1999 national championship team, won the 2010 Swatch FIVB World Tour.
