A gathering of family and friends is planned Sept. 6 for Walter Barry Pelcher, who passed away Aug. 29, 2006, at the University of California, Davis, following a battle with leukemia.

Barry was born June 19, 1962, in Gloversville, N.Y. and was an eight-year resident of South Lake Tahoe. He served in the National Guard for seven years in Colorado. Barry was a avid skier, liked to fish, play video games and golf.

He is survived by his parents, Walter and Caryl Pelcher of Gardnerville, Nev.; brothers, Rick, Jimmy and David Pelcher; sister, Michelle Pelcher; several nieces and nephews; and many, many close friends.



The gathering will begin at 3 p.m. at the Branding Iron Restaurant, formerly known at Mulligans Irish Pub, 3600 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
