Walter L. Morrow

No services are planned at this time for Walter Leland Morrow, who died Nov. 3, 2004, at Lake Havasu, Ariz. He was 76.

Walter was born Feb. 4, 1928, at Isleton, Calif. He was raised in Oakland, Calif., where he completed his education and brief military duty. He married Shirley Hodgdon in 1948. Walter and Shirley moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1962 with their four children. Walter worked as a pit boss for Harrah’s and later for Sahara Tahoe. In the late 1970s, Walter moved to Gardnerville, Nev., and worked at the Ormsby House until it closed and he retired. During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and made many pieces of furniture for friends and family. He also enjoyed restoring cars and motorcycles and took great pleasure in riding his Harley-Davidson.

Water is survived by his former wife, Shirley Morrow of South Lake Tahoe; children, Janet Coniglio of South Lake Tahoe, David Morrow of Placerville, Calif., Steven Morrow of Truckee, Calif., and Scott Morrow of Lake Havasu; grandchildren, Jamie Frink of Folsom, Calif., Joel Coniglio of San Diego, Calif., Michael Morrow of Truckee, and Kristi Morrow of South Lake Tahoe; and great-grandson, Calvin Frink of Folsom.
