Warmer weather today with afternoon winds
After a very warm start this morning, we should see temperatures perhaps only a few degrees warmer than those experienced on Tuesday, along with a little more sunshine.
Mostly cloudy skies and a few showers this morning will give way to partly cloudy conditions by afternoon, and decreasing chances of thunderstorms by mid afternoon. Most storms today should remain east of Tahoe over the Carson Valley and south toward Topaz Lake.
If we do see a thunderstorm in the basin it will have to develop before 1 p.m. or so and will not last long. The west winds will quickly push any storms into Western Nevada away from Tahoe.
Winds today will pick up a little from the west or southwest by afternoon in the 10 to 15 mph range, with some gusts up to 20 mph possible.
Highs today will warm into the lower to mid 80s. Lows tonight will be much more comfortable in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
