Weak voter turnout in city
Tuesday the State of California held an election. Very few South Lake Tahoe residents took notice.
Voter turnout in the Board of Supervisors 5th District was a dismall 34.2 percent. It was worse in the city of South Lake Tahoe where only one of every three voters cast ballots Tuesday.
Placerville turnout was 41.9 percent, and 46 percent of El Dorado County registered voters took part in the selection of the state’s governor and constitutional officers, a U.S. Senator, the Assembly, the delegation to the House of Representatives, and a host of important state propositions and local measures and offices.
In both the 4th Congressional and 4th Assembly races, voter turnout was 44.5 percent.
