Wedding featured on Lifetime

South Shore television viewers may recognize a scene on the Lifetime Channel next month in a show called “Dream Weddings on a Budget.” Spending examples range from $5,000 to $50,000, according to producers.

The show, with a 10-minute segment set at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, is part of a series titled “Weddings of a Lifetime.” It airs March 10 at 11 p.m.

Lake Tahoe shares the spotlight with New York as well as Southern California’s Bel Air and Thousand Oaks.

The Tahoe clip featured the union of Seattle couple Jimmy Tucker and Janelle Holms, one of three weddings that took place at the golf course Feb. 2.

“We’re psyched to see it,” Janelle said. She alerted friends and family members from all over the nation.

It’s the first marriage for both people, who decided to tie the knot after dating for seven years.

They discovered the network planned to publicize their wedding three weeks prior to the event.

The bride characterized the public display of their love as “interesting” and “something that didn’t seem real,” but the pressure of wedding perfection didn’t shake them, Tucker said.

“If anything was going to go wrong, then they would have fixed it,” she added.

Tucker said her father, a golfer, talked her into having the wedding at a golf course. Then, a friend reminded her that she also was married at Edgewood.

A year ago, Jimmy and Janelle decided the host of the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship slated in July was the ideal place to exchange vows.

“I knew I wanted to get married in Tahoe. I just didn’t know where,” she said.
