Wednesday’s forecast: Sunny and warm today
August 13, 2008
Above normal temperatures will continue over the next several days as a strong upper level ridge of high pressure holds along the Sierra.
The strong daytime heating will push afternoon highs in the the upper 80s around the lake today and generate some cumulus clouds along Sierra crest and Carson range.
Lake Tahoe boaters should enjoy light winds today and Thursday with smooth waters in the morning hours. Lows tonight are forecast to drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s with light winds.
Look for a little warmer temperatures on Thursday with highs topping out in the upper 80s to lower 90s around the lake.
A gradual build up in moisture and instability in this light flow pattern could result in some isolated late afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Thursday but with a better chance of seeing clouds and afternoon thunderstorms Friday and Saturday.
