What’s closed for Nevada Day holiday

Nevada state and Douglas County offices and schools in Lake Tahoe will be closed Friday for Nevada Day. The exception will be marriage licenses and work cards at the Tahoe Administration Building. Otherwise all other county services will be closed, including the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Western Nevada College campuses and learning centers in Carson City, Fallon, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington will be closed.

Douglas County public libraries will be closed Friday and Saturday.

The U.S. Post Office locations are open for Nevada Day.

On the Nevada side, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Bank of the West, First National Bank, and U.S. Bank will be open on Friday. Colonial Bank, Heritage Bank, Irwin Union and the Greater Nevada Credit Union will be closed Friday.

The Nevada State Museum will be open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30. Saturday. Admission is free.

Halloween and trick-or-treating will be celebrated in Carson City on Wednesday.
