A fund-raiser to benefit the George Whittell High School yearbook will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ivano’s Italian Restaurant, 605 Highway 50, in Marla Bay.
The event will include a pasta luncheon and a silent auction. Tickets purchased in advance are $6 and they will be $8 at the door. To buy tickets in advance call Whittell at (775) 588-2446.
Scouts collecting food donations
For the fifth straight year Boy Scouts of America and U.S. Bank are partnering in the “Scouting For Food Program”
Cub Scout Pack 592 of South Lake Tahoe will be placing door hangers on local residences beginning Saturday.
Residents are asked to put bags filled with food outside their front door for collection Dec. 11. The Cub Scouts will bring the full bags to their Pack meeting Dec. 14 at Tahoe Valley Elementary. The Scout leaders will deliver the bountiful food to Christmas Cheer, who will distribute baskets to many needy local families. Please contribute through Cub Scouts in the Spirit of the Season.

Valhalla holiday gala Saturday
Celebrate the holiday season Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Valhalla Grand Hall. The halls will be dressed in their holiday best with a magnificent tree, boughs of holly, sparkling white lights and a glowing fire.
This incredible evening includes a sumptuous three-course meal prepared by the area’s finest restaurants and caterers. The evening also includes a silent auction and music for everyone to enjoy. Join us for a night full of friends, fun and holiday celebration.

Legion selling Buffalo wings
American Legion Post 795 will offer chicken wings for sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the hall, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd., across from Meek’s Building Center.
“Bill’s Famous Buffalo Wings” will be available for 30 cents each. A no-host bar will be open for beverages and the NFL football game will be showing on the TV. For more information call (530) 541-8788.
