-Pop Warner board huddles Thursday

The South Tahoe Pop Warner board of directors will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

-Baroque band plays Starbucks

Dream Spirit Baroque Band will entertain from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Starbucks at the “Y.” The musical performance is free of charge and open to the public.



The band, which features Celtic, baroque and folk chamber music as well as songs and dances from around the world, will also play Christmas music.

The sound is lighthearted and comfortable. The four musicians play an original mix of instruments including dulcimer, guitar, violin, cello, recorder, dumbek, which is a middle eastern tabla drum, and other percussion instruments.

-Fund-raiser aids ailing resident

Sealed With A Kiss in the Factory Stores at the “Y” will sponsor a fund-raiser to benefit a local woman with bulimia during the month of December.

Mandiey Alameda is a special friend who is going to the hospital Jan. 6 for six weeks to recover from the condition.

During the month of December, Sealed With A Kiss will provide gift wrapping from $2 to $10 with all proceeds going to Alameda.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday Anne Roos, a Celtic harpist, will perform holiday music for people who come in to have gifts wrapped and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.
