Lake Tahoe Gay Lesbian Foundation is gathering hikers for a seven-mile round-trip trek from Big Meadow trailhead to Dardanelles Lake on Aug. 7 starting at 9 a.m.

The group will leave promptly at 9 a.m. from the trailhead off Luther Pass on the western side of the road. This moderate hike has an elevation gain of 560 feet, meandering through aspens, along rolling hills, past willows and other flora. Bring water and lunch.

Get ready for rummage sale

St. Gall Catholic Church is ready for its annual awesome rummage sale scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5-6 at 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

The sale will have fishing boats along with anything else you can think of.

Come early. Groupo La Amistad De St. Gall will be serving breakfast burritos along with hot dogs and tacos.
