The South Lake Tahoe Optimist Kids’ Run will be Sunday at Valhalla Estate.

Runners 13 and younger from all over the country are invited to participate in the annual event. The distances range from 200 meters for those 5 and under, to a 11Ú2-mile run for 12 and 13 year olds.

All runners receive a medal, hot dog and a drink.

The free registration starts at 8 a.m. and the first race begins at 10:30 a.m.

Brunch to focus on acupuncture

Do you have unexplained aches and pains? Have you ever wondered if acupuncture is right for you? Please join the South Lake Tahoe Chapter of the American Association of University Women on Saturday at 10 a.m. for brunch and what promises to be a “pinpoint” program on acupuncture by Melinda Choy, licensed acupuncture therapist.

The brunch meeting will be held at St. Theresa Parish Hall, 1041 Lyons Avenue. Please RSVP to Candi Kelly by Friday at (530) 541-2799. The cost for the brunch is $4.
