You’d better not ignore the snore

Better Breathers will meet Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The public is welcome.

The speaker is Roxanne Taylor, sleep technologist, whose topic is “What You Don’t Know About Your Sleep Could Hurt You.” Taylor will present vital information regarding sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. She will discuss why snoring should not be ignored and how diagnosis and treatment can change your life if you are one of thousands affected by these disorders.

Better Breathers Support Group meets monthly to discuss matters to help members better cope with breathing problems and to learn ways to maximize health. Speakers are invited to discuss related COPD including asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Funny title, important date

A wellness lecture titled “Diabetes Feet: Don’t Fail Me Now!” has been scheduled Thursday 6 to 7 p.m. at the Barton Hospital board room.

Speaker will be Dr. Patricia Ferrarro, who has been a board certified podiatrist in private practice in South Lake Tahoe for 14 years. She has a master’s degree in the field of medical education, which has equipped her as an educator. She helps patients understand the importance of taking good care of their feet, especially when patients have been diagnosed with diabetes. This lecture will cover the following topics and questions: Why are feet special for everyone? Why is circulation important? How to choose shoes and Solutions to Problems.
