The American Legion Women’s Auxiliary will sell Christmas items and baked goods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The sale will take place inside American Legion Post 795, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd., across from Meek’s Building Center. Included will be new and used ornaments and decorations.

Skiing is made more affordable
The Zephyr Cove Ski Club, sponsored by the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department, will conduct registration for the 2006 winter program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade.
The club offers a variety of affordable skiing and boarding opportunities for all Douglas County students from kindergarten through high school age. All ability levels are welcome to participate.

The ski club is privileged to once again offer this program at Heavenly Ski Resort. Options include Lift and Lesson, Lift Only, or Pay As You Go packages. The program begins Jan. 7 and runs for six Saturdays, with one make-up ski day Feb. 25. Bus transportation is included.

Medicare talk is scheduled
The South Lake Tahoe Senior Center will host a talk to discuss Medicare Part D, the new Medicare prescription drug program at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 8 at the senior center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The information will be presented by the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program known as HICAP.
