Applebee’s Restaurant will donate 20 percent of all purchases from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to the Lake Tahoe Reading Council. Members of the council will serve from 5 to 8 p.m.
A flier must be presented to the sever at the time of visit to participate in the donation program. Fliers are available in advance at the restaurant, 3987 Lake Tahoe Blvd., across from the Village Center. Fliers are also available at school sites and the public library.
Tax and tip are not included with the fliers and the offer is not valid with other promotions.
Board meeting for Pop Warner
The South Tahoe Pop Warner Football & Cheer Association will conduct its monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Best Western Station House conference room.
The agenda for this meeting will involve the closing of the 2005 South Tahoe Pop Warner season as well as the introduction of executive board positions up for election for the 2006 season. Two-term executive board positions include president, vice president of football affairs, secretary and treasurer. Board of director positions are directors of fundraising, field, equipment, snack shack, publicity and team manager.

Child CPR class offered Tuesday
An American Heart Infant/Child CPR class will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Star Building conference room, 2489 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The class to teach CPR for children 1 to 8 years of age also includes signs of choking and airway techniques. The fee of $10 is payable with registration and advance registration is required. Chambers hold holiday mixer
The South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas chambers of commerce will sponsor their annual joint chamber holiday mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will be hosted by Riva Grill on the Lake at the Ski Run Marina.
Help “Stuff the Bus” by bringing unwrapped toys for the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center; nonperishable food items for Christmas Cheer; and wrapping paper, ribbon and bows for Tahoe Youth and Family Services. This holiday event will have many specials, including music by Mobile DJ Baxter, fabulous food and the Riva Grill’s famous wet woodies. Join the chambers of commerce in making this a giving holiday season.
