With April 15 looming, don’t forget the free tax preparation offered by AARP Tax-Aide to low- and middle- income taxpayers.

AARP Tax-Aide, a program of the AARP Foundation in conjunction with the IRS, gives special attention to people 60 years of age and older.

The service is available from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center and 2 to 6 p.m. Thursdays at Lake Tahoe Community College.

Election coming; Dems to meet

The Douglas County Democratic Central Committee will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. March 2 at the Overland Restaurant in Gardnerville.

All Democrats are encouraged to attend as we will be discussing the County Convention on March 11, the opening of a headquarters and other important issues concerning the upcoming elections.
