The Tahoe Douglas Seniors will hold their monthly membership luncheon meeting Wednesday. The event will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe convention center. Reservations are required. Call (775) 588-5140.

Action team is ready to meet

The American Red Cross South Lake Tahoe Disaster Action Team meets at 1:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be this week.

Pop Warner board to gather

Pop Warner is having a board meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Hall, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd., across from Meek’s Building Center.

Chamber offers scholarships

The Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce has established a scholarship to be awarded annually to one or more graduating seniors from Whittell High School, Douglas High School and/or South Tahoe High.

The only requirements for application, besides graduation, are that the student be a child of a member-in-good-standing of the Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce, or the child of an employee of a member-in-good-standing, and have plans to continue his or her formal education in the fall.

Storytime topic is days of week

The South Lake Tahoe Branch Library will present Family Bedtime Story Time at 6:30 p.m. March 15 at the library. This program will have stories, games and crafts based on this month’s theme, Days of the Week. All these activities will be appropriate for children 3 to 8 years old. They are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite toy or blanket. This program is free and open to all children.

Friendly dogs at adoption event

Douglas Animal Welfare Group will conduct a dog adoption event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 18 at Petco, Highway 50 and Topsy Lane south of Carson City.

DAWG members will show off the great dogs from the Gardnerville animal shelter for all the lucky potential dog adopters. The dogs are hand-selected for friendliness and are sure to bring good luck and love for many years to come.
