There will be a free GPS and avalanche clinic Saturday at Blue Lakes Road parking area in Hope Valley. The public is welcome to join in between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about how to add to the fun and safety while snowmobiling. Clinics are kept short, so participants won’t miss out on any snowmobiling.

The event is sponsored by the Lake Tahoe Snowmobile Association. For more information contact Bud Voisinet, club president, at (530) 542-1261 or John Breylinger at (775) 588-0619.

BMPs topic at league’s lunch

The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. March 30 in the Lake Tahoe Community College Creekside dining room.

The speaker will be Erik Larson, program coordinator, Backyard Conservation Program, Tahoe Resource Conservation District. The conservation district is offering incentives to homeowners to get their BMPs in place. Applications will be available at the meeting for a free BMP site evaluation and free technical assistance.

The cost of lunch is $10 and includes gratuity. Reservations are necessary by noon March 28 by calling (530) 573-1020.
