The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League’s luncheon meeting will begin at noon May 25 in the Timber Topper Room at Lakeside Inn and Casino. El Dorado County Supervisor Norma Santiago will install new officers for 2006-07.

The luncheon menu will include a choice of six different entrees, side dishes, beverages and gratuity. The cost is $10 per person. Reservations are necessary. To make a reservation and for more information call (530) 573-1020 before noon May 22. Members, nonmembers and friends are invited to participate.

Help needed to move bears



The Lake Tahoe Visitor Author is recruiting for volunteers to help move fiberglass bears for CeleBEARtion on May 27. Needed are trucks with trailers and volunteers able to life at least 50 pounds.

Hepatitis Day is postponed

The Hepatitis Awareness Day community barbecue scheduled for May 21 at Bijou Community Park has been postponed.

The annual Soup Series, a South Lake Tahoe Disc Golf tradition, will still take place and will begin in the morning. Call Ken Morgan at (530) 577-3111.

Class of 1986 will reunite

South Tahoe High School Class of 1986 is planning its 20-year reunion on Aug. 11, 12 and 13 and organizers are still looking for many classmates.
