AARP Chapter 2627 will sponsor two flea markets at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The flea markets will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Aug. 26.

Table rental is $9 for a long table and $5 for a half table. Sign up at the senior center office.

Senior Citizens Inc. will sponsor their monthly pancake breakfasts at the senior center on the same day as the flea markets. Proceeds from table rental and breakfast will go to the Senior Center building fund. Call the center at (530) 542-6094.

Alumni send off college students

The University of Southern California Northern Nevada Alumni Club will sponsor its 20th annual “SCend Off” from 3 to 7 p.m. July 29 at Zephyr Cove Resort, 760 Highway 50 in Zephyr Cove.

During the Beach, Band and Barbecue event, the alumni club will recognize and send off 17 new northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe students who will attend USC this fall. In addition, the famous USC marching band will perform.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for youths 12 years of age and younger. Raffle tickets, T-shirts and polo shirts highlighting the event will be for sale.
