The South Lake Tahoe Breast Cancer Support Group meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The next meeting is this Thursday.
The support group offers an opportunity to meet other women who are breast cancer survivors and share information and support. The members help each other through a very difficult time in their lives, no matter what stage of the disease they are in.

Join the fun at Vaudeville show
Don’t miss the fun of attending the “Vaudeville Show Ð Tahoe Style,” which will be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The show will feature singers, dancers, musicians, comedy and magic. Tickets are only $5 and are available at the senior center on weekdays. Seating is limited, so get your ticket now.
There will also be a raffle with some great prizes. Raffle tickets can be obtained at the center also. It is not necessary to be at the event to win. Call the senior center at (530) 542-6094.
Event benefits Viking football
The South Tahoe Quarterback Club has scheduled a fundraiser for the Viking football program at 6 p.m. Saturday at Steamers Bar and Grill. A steak dinner will be followed by music and dancing.
Several local merchants have donated items for a silent auction during the event. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold.
Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased at the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce or through Lori Williams at (530) 573-1049 or Kahl Eidam at (530) 542-4830.
Encore set for Africa speaker
Owing to the success of Joanna Upton’s recent presentation on her experiences in West Africa to Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe, the program will be repeated Wednesday at South Tahoe Rotary Club.
The dinner meeting convenes at 6:30 p.m. at Harrah’s Tahoe convention center. The cost of dinner is $15. Community members are invited, but advance reservations are required.
