South Lake Tahoe Branch of Sons In Retirement meets the fourth Monday of each month at Tep’s Villa Roma, 3450 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The next meeting will be Aug. 28.

AG candidate to meet voters

Catherine Cortez Mastos will be at Not Just Java in the Round Hill Square shopping center, Highway 50 at Elks Point Road, at noon Aug. 28 to answer questions and meet voters.

She is on the November 2006 ballot running for Nevada State Attorney General on the Democratic ticket.

Cortez Mastos has an extensive background in the law.

Everyone is encouraged to take this opportunity to “know your candidate” on an informal basis.

The event is sponsored by the Blue Lake Tahoe Democrats and is open to all regardless of party affiliation.
