Iron Mountain Secure Shredding will be in the St. Theresa School parking lot, 1081 Lyons Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23.

The program is a fundraiser for the scholarship program, and financial donations will be appreciated. Shredding is a way to prevent identity theft. Papers only will be accepted. No plastic or newspapers will be allowed.

Say ‘ja’ to Oktoberfest

The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra will host its fourth annual Oktoberfest beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Horizon Casino Resort.

The event will include music for dancing by the Riptides, a special wine tasting event, silent auction, envelope raffle and entertainment by the Marcia Sarosik dancers.

Tickets are $40 per person or $360 for a reserved table for eight. Last year the event sold out before the doors opened, so for tickets call Mark Lilly at (530) 544-2297. Call Marie Foster at (530) 544-2864.
