Strategies for parenting taught

Choices for Children is offering a parenting class series on Redirecting Children’s Behavior starting in September. RCD is a series of five classes for parents that teaches how to create families that are close, cooperative and respectful, while increasing children’s self-esteem, confidence and responsibility.

Some of the topics this positive approach to parenting for newborns through teens will include are preventing sibling rivalry, teaching self control, teaching children to resolve their own conflicts, replacing fighting with negotiation and cooperation, and how to win the other parent’s cooperation.

Classes will take place from 6:15 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday from Sept. 13 to Oct. 18. There is no class Oct. 4. The cost is $100 per person.

For more information or to register call Carol at (530) 541-5848.

The deadline to register is Sept. 11.
