Saturday Night Bingo at the Senior Center

Come and have fun at Saturday Night Bingo Sept. 8 and 22 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Bingo games, open to the public 18 years of age and over, are usually scheduled the first and third Friday of the month. Because of the Labor Day weekend, they will be on the second and fourth weekends in September.

Early bird games begin at 5:30 p.m. and regular games at 6 p.m. There are 17 basic games, which last until 9:30 p.m. Coffee, tea and pastries are served.

Come for fun and companionship, and maybe you will win some money. This is a fundraiser to pay for insurance, so there can be activities at the senior center. Volunteers are needed and appreciated. For more information call John at (530) 541-2773 or the center at (530) 542-6094.

Galerie Blu’u to host liver disease fundraiser

There are many different types of liver disease. But no matter what type a person has, the damage to their liver is likely to progress in a similar way. Whether their liver is infected with a virus, injured by chemicals, or under attack from their own immune system, the basic damage is the same – that their liver will become so damaged it can no longer work to keep them alive.

Galerie Blu’u inside the MontBleu Resort and Spa on Sept. 14 and 15 will host a liver disease awareness fundraiser for longtime community member Stacy Ballard. The event will take place from 6 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday. A $10 donation will include one free raffle ticket, silent auction, food, and music provided by Kelly’s Lot, The Prophetz, and a surprise guest.

A representative from Golden State Donor Services will speak about the importance of organ donation and a speaker from the California Hepatitis C Task Force will talk about hepatitis C and testing and the importance of hepatitis A and B immunizations.

To make a donation for the raffle or silent auction call the Galerie Blu’u at (775) 588-3400.
