American Legion Post 795 will present Monday Night Football beginning at 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The public is welcome.

The evening will include watching football on three TV screens, a no host bar and a hot dog and bowl of chili for $1. For more information call the Legion Hall at (530) 541-8788.

Loon Lake cleanup is rescheduled

The Green Party has rescheduled its cleanup, picnic and camping trip to Loon Lake in the Crystal Basin. The event will take place today through Sunday. Free camping will be available at North Wind Campsite at Loon Lake.

Members of the Green Party will clean up the beach, roads, campsites or the general area. Tools will be provided. Participants must bring their own camp equipment, food, flashlight, coat, long pants, soap and sleeping gear. Volunteers can work from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and can play the rest of the time.

Directions to Loon Lake: From Highway 50 turn onto Ice-House Road and proceed to Loon Lake at the end of the road. Before you reach the second dam, watch for North Wind campsites.

Fundraiser at Chevys for STHS volleyball

A fundraiser to benefit the South Tahoe High School girls’ volleyball team will take place Wednesday at Chevys Fresh Mex restaurant, 3678 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Chevys will donate 25 percent of all sales between 4 to 8 p.m. to the volleyball team, when customers present a fundraiser flyer. Participants must present a flyer to their server when ordering. Flyers may be obtained from any volleyball team member or by calling Chris Henderson at (530) 577-8640.
