Douglas County Republican Central Committee invites members and guests to attend the annual Lincoln/Reagan Dinner on Feb. 10.

The event will begin with a social and no-host bar at 4 p.m. in the Shannon Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden. Introductions and dinner will get under way at 5 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Tyrus W. Cobb, who was special assistant to President Ronald Reagan in 1988-89. He currently is CEO of The Northern Nevada Network.

Caregiving is a difficult and often challenging role. Taking the opportunity to share information and feel connected to others providing care is a vital step to perform this task well.

An opportunity to become connected and rejuvenated with a support group has been scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Refreshments will be served. Free respite care is available to qualified caregivers. Advance authorization is required for respite services. The El Dorado County Area Agency on Aging offers free information and assistance to residents of El Dorado County.

The Senior Information and Assistance Program will assist seniors, families, caregivers and service providers with information about services such as Medi-Cal, financial aid, home health care programs, senior legal assistance, housing and home-delivered meals, activities and more.

The South Lake Tahoe Branch of Sons in Retirement meets the fourth Monday of each month at Tep’s Villa Roma, 3450 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The next meeting will be next Monday.
